Generalities of the Americas

Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian navigator who was the first to understand the lands discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492 and placed America in honor of his name.
The North America divided in 3 countries:
  • Canada
  • United States
  • Mexico



The South America divided in 13 countries:  Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina Uruguay, Paraguay, Suriname, Guayaquil, Bolivia y Guayana Francesa.



The America Central divided in 7 countries: Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá y Belice



The Caribbean America divided in 14 countries: Cuba, Haití, Bahamas, República Dominicana, Puerto Rico, Trinidad y Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua y Barbuda, San Kits y Nevis, Santa Lucía, Granada, San Vicente y Dominica.



Difference between America Central and Central America:

America Central is the union of all countries that are in Isthmian America and Central America is the union of all countries of America isthmus and islands.
